I choose to view life as the ultimate adventure game, or an ongoing spiritual journey, in which I seek a deeper understanding of myself, other living things, the nature of the universe, love, and God.
My cats and other pets come first, even when life becomes difficult. They are a permanent committment. I will look for ways in which I can help other animals as well, so long as it does not interfere with my ability to care for the ones to which I am already committed.
I will exercise my creative talents, for my own enjoyment and perhaps to teach others to respect and rejoice in the other life on this planet (and beyond), human or otherwise. Or perhaps I will use my creativity to invent things and solutions which will make life more pleasant for all creatures.
I will remember that the price of freedom is eternal vigilance. I will honor the memory of those who died, and the POW/MIAs whose fate is unknown. I will take action by excercising my right to vote, writing letters to newspapers, legislators, and corporations, and I will keep myself informed by attending public meetings and reading.
I value peace, quiet, space, solitude, privacy, and fresh air, and will seek to create and maintain a personal environment with these things in mind. Favorite quote by Albert Einstein: "I live that solitude which is painful in youth, but glorious in the mature years".
Finally, I will be true to myself no matter what is considered by society to be popular at the time. Although "little boys are made of frogs and snails and puppy dog tails" and "little girls are made of sugar and spice and everything nice", little Marsha is made of stars and suns and laser beam guns!
